Lower/Middle School Music
PK-8th Grades

Our HAA music program lays the foundation for a lifelong love of music by nurturing confident performers, active listeners, and musically literate students. Through classes, assemblies, informal gatherings, and evening performances, students experience the joy and beauty of creating music together. They explore rhythm, melody, and harmony through movement, singing, and instrumental activities—building both creative expression and a strong understanding of musical concepts.

Lower School students participate in weekly music classes where they develop skills in singing, playing percussive instruments, and learning recorders. As they progress, students in 5th–8th grade have the opportunity to deepen their skills through more specialized instruction in chorus or band, allowing them to engage in more refined musical experiences.

High School Band/Music
9th-12th Grades

In High School, students engage in a rich and diverse music program with abundant opportunities to perform, lead, and grow. They are encouraged to explore their talents as both ensemble members and soloists. Through focused study in music theory, musicianship, and literacy—paired with a dynamic performance schedule—students are challenged to deepen their skills, expand their creativity, and flourish as well-rounded, expressive musicians.
